Optigas

In March 2006 Ceritas acquired Optigas and its Dull Knife and Kingsbury gathering systems in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. The Dull Knife system consists of a 23-mile east-west trunkline and a newly constructed 12-mile north-south trunkline designed to transport Coalbed Methane natural gas from central delivery points to intrastate pipelines. Dull Knife has 8 satellite compressor stations designed to compress natural gas from 5 psig to 800 psig and a central compressor station which boosts the gas to 1440 psig for delivery to intrastate pipelines. The Kingsbury system consists of 2.5 miles of pipelines and a central compressor station designed to compress gas from 5 psig to 750 psig for intrastate pipeline delivery. The systems currently have over 30,000 HP of installed compression and are presently capable of transporting 85,000 Mcfd of inlet gas. Optigas has over 10,000 HP of additional compression on order to handle additional volume increases in the next year.
